All of us experience stress in our lives for different reasons and at different times. For some of us this stress can become overwhelming and hard to manage. At these times is important to reach out for additional help and support from professional counselors. We can help you identify sources of stress in your life and help to equipping you with tools and strategies to cope effectively with difficult situations. Our focus is to reduce the negative impact of stress on your mental, emotional, and physical well-being and help you to get back to your center.
We will begin by exploring your stressor and triggers, whether external such as work or relationships, or internal such as negative thinking, self-criticism. We will help you asses your current coping mechanisms and identify more productive ways to manage stressors. This may include psychoeducation about how stress impacts your mental and physical wellbeing, using evidence-based approaches to help challenge and shift thoughts and behaviors and utilizing mindfulness-based interventions to your daily routine.
Stress management counseling is personalized—strategies vary based on the individual’s personality, needs, and life circumstances. The ultimate aim is not to eliminate all stress (which isn’t possible) but to help you respond to it in healthier, more adaptive ways.
